Professor Robyn Aitken – Chair
Appointed to the Board of FCD Health in January 2021, Dr Aitken is a PhD prepared Nurse with over thirty years of experience. Currently the Deputy Dean and Professor of Rural and Remote Health in the College of Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University, she has previously held the roles of Professor in Nursing, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Flinders University; Executive Director Clinical Innovation and Research, Top End Health Service; and Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery, Top End Health Service.
Dr Nigel Gray - Director
Taking up a position on the FCD Health Board in August 2023, Dr Gray has worked as a provider of primary health care services, education and supervision for more than three decades. His experience covers the Australian, UK and Canadian health care systems and includes participation on a range of health service Boards and committees. Dr Gray’s knowledge and expertise in the healthcare sector will see him make an invaluable contribution to the FCD Health Ltd Board.
Mr Rick Davies - Director
Mr Rick Davies was appointed to the FCD Health Board in 2023. Holding the position of Vice-President Finance and Corporate, Charles Darwin University, Mr Davies has over 25 years’ experience in the financial field, including just under a decade as Executive Director Corporate and Chief Financial Officer at LaTrobe Community Health Centre. With his background in corporate services leadership in both the public and private sector including a Victorian Government Statutory Authority, Mr Davies is a welcome addition to the FCD Health Ltd Board.
Associate Professor Vivienne Brand - Director
A/Prof Brand was appointed to the FCD Health Board in April 2023. She teaches and researches in corporate law and governance, whistleblowing, social licence to operate and foreign bribery at Flinders University in the College of Business, Government and Law. She has significant experience as a director, including directorship of an ASX company (including sitting on its Audit & Risk Committee and Investment

Dr Sarah Mills

Born and raised in the Territory Dr Sarah Mills completed her medical degree in Darwin through the Northern Territory Medical Program. After receiving her medical degree, Sarah worked at the Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospitals for five years across a range of different specialties.
Joining our practice as a General Practice Registrar at the beginning of 2020 and achieving her Fellowship to the Royal Australian College of General Practice at the end of 2022, Sarah is passionate about Women’s Health, Sarah has completed post graduate certificates in Women’s Health, Childrens health and Mental Health.

Dr Adishwer Tapryal

Graduating in 2011, Dr Adishwer Tapryal has lived and worked in the Northern Territory since 2015. Following a period of working at both the Royal Darwin and Palmerston Regional Hospitals, Dr Tapryal made the decision to specialise in General Practice, achieving Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practictioners in August 2023. Dr Taypryal has a keen interest in a broad range of primary health care issues including Chronic disease management, cardiovascular health, diabetes maangement and COPD assessment. Most recently he has turned his attention to providing vital skin cancer care and is working towards a Fellowship in this area.

Dr Sabeena Irfan Bhat

Moving to the Territory in 2013, Dr Sabeena Irfan Bhat grew up in Jammu and Kashmir in the Northern part of India where she trained to become a doctor. After moving to the Territory she originally worked at the Royal Darwin Hospital across a range of specialties before joining our practice in November 2022 to under take specialty training in General Practice. Sabeena is dedicated to providing high quality care to her patients.

Joining the team in 2012, Robyn has an extensive background in both the public and private health sectors. She has held senior roles with the Northern Territory’s Department of Health, been the General Manager of the Darwin Private Hospital and for ten years was the Executive Director of the Australian Medical Association NT.
In addition to her role with FCD Health, Robyn volunteers her time to a number of community organisations and currently holds the position of Chair, Total Recreation.

Chris joined our team in 2014, initially as a Specialist GP and Clinical Supervisor before taking up his current position in mid 2016.
With extensive experience in teaching medical students and training general practice registrars, Chris provides vital input into our teaching and training programs as well as clinical oversight of our day to day operations.

Joining the FCD Health team mid 2020 Sushma has become an invaluable member of our nursing team. Working tirelessly to support the community during the COVID 19 pandemic, Sushma proved herself a natural leader and teacher and was the logical choice to take up the role of CNM when long term team member Liz Kennedy retired from the role in November 2023.
Sushma is a vital member of our executive team.
